Lilly really wanted to dance too.
At Josiah's school on Friday he had a multicultural fair. A very nice event. I wish I could of been there for the whole thing. On Friday morning was the LAUSD teacher walk-out opposing the budget cuts. I oppose the budget cuts but I wish there could have been a better way of opposing it. One hour with out teachers kind of got chaotic. I stayed and helped as much as I could. Fortunately, all went well and the teachers soon came back. (We love our teacher!) For those of you who don't know Josiah (and Lilly) are very multi-racial. They are Caucasian, African American, Filipino, Hispanic, and a dash of Cherokee Indian. So this fair was kind of fun. I wanted to put together a neat something for the little museum depicting children's cultures in the school. But didn't get around to it. Josiah's school is very multi-ethnic which we like. It is primarily Black and Hispanic. But he has friends from all colors of the rainbow. Isn't it wonderful? I hope he stays "color-blind" the rest of his life. At the fair, there were booths of fun games and face-painting and food of different ethnics provided by the parents. After school there was a performance of sorts. The different grades performed dances and songs from across the world. The kindergarten did a Hawaiian dance. It was very cute but short.
